Joanna Lau2007 Lewis Rudin NYU First Tee Scholarship Recipient
Joanna graduated from the Anglo-Chinese Junior College in Singapore and will be attending the Stern School of Business at New York University in the fall.Joanna has been a member of The First Tee of Singapore since 2004 when the program started in her school; she has achieved Birdie Level. In 2005 Joanna attended The First Tee National Academies held in Nashville and in 2006 was given the Youth Leadership Award during the Global Young Leaders Conference. Joanna represented the Singapore Chapter of The First Tee in the UBC International Junior Golf Championships in 2005 and was the captain of her school golf team in 2004 and 2006. Joanna’s other interests including playing the harp and piano. She has reached the 6th level of the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music in Singapore. Kimberly Anglin will be graduating from the Bronx High School of Science with a GPA of 92% and has been a member of the National Honor Society since her junior year. She is the Copy Editor of the senior yearbook and serves on the Senior Class Activities Committee.Kimberly has played on the Bronx High School of Science’s golf team for the last three years and this year serves as Co-Captain of the Varsity Team. Kimberly has been involved in the First Tee of Metropolitan New York for the past three years and is certified at the Par level. She has been a mentee in the Royal Bank of Scotland/The First Tee Mentor Program since November 2004. Since 7th grade Kimberly has been a member of the Bronx Educational Alliance GEAR-UP Program. Kimberly has been accepted into New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences where she will be studying communications and aspires to work in print journalism. Kelly Leung, a native of Manhattan, will graduate from The Bronx High School of Science this month. Kelly is a member of the National Honor Society and vice president of Arista, a peer tutoring program. She has been a member of her high school tennis team for the last two years and served as captain of the team this past fall. For the past 4 years, Kelly has also been playing first position on the golf team and has been the captain for the last two years.Kelly has been involved with the First Tee of Metropolitan New York for over four years, as both a student, as well as, an instructor for beginner golfers. Kelly has obtained Birdie level certification. In the summer of 2004, she attended the First Tee National Leadership Academy and was nominated for the Outstanding Female Leadership Award. Kelly has also been designated as a John Clay scholar, recognition for being one of the highest achieving scholars in The First Tee’s Class of 2005. Kelly was accepted Early Admission to The Stern School of Business at New York University. Kristen Red-Horse2004 Lewis Rudin NYU First Tee Scholorship Recipient
Kristen Red-Horse graduated from Loretto High School in Sacramento, California, where she maintained a grade point average of 3.65. She has been a member of The First Tee of Sacramento for three years, achieving Eagle level certification in May 2003. Kristen is extremely active in both her local community and high school, competing on the varsity golf team and serving as team captain for her varsity softball team.Kristen attended two consecutive National Academies and earned both the Playing Through Determination Award and Most Outstanding Leadership Award. She will attend New York University where she plans to study Communications and aspires toward a career in sports broadcasting. |
