The Rudin family is pleased to present this years Lew Rudin Charity Golf Classic in support of The First Tee of Metropolitan New York. This golf tournament combines several of Lew's passions - his love for his friends, love of golf, love of Deepdale and love for The First Tee.
The goal of The First Tee is to impact the lives of young people around the world by creating affordable and accessible golf facilities to primarily serve those who have not previously had exposure to the game and its positive values. The mission is broader than just teaching children how to play golf, it includes teaching these children strong life skills. The 9 core values of The First Tee are: honesty, respect, confidence, responsibility, integrity, courtesy, judgment, perserverance and sportsmanship, which are carried over onto both the golf course and every day life.
The First Tee of Metropolitan New York at Mosholu Golf Course opened the Lew Rudin Youth Golf Center on June 5, 2002. This junior learning center contains an artificial training green, chipping area, practice tee and Par-3 hole. Inside there is a classroom area to provide instruction on the rules and etiquette of golf and the “life skills”. Working with local schools and community groups, 60-80 young people receive formal instruction every afternoon.
The First Tee also partners up with colleges and universities to provide scholarships to deserving participants of The First Tee program. A portion of the money raised today will be set aside to provide a full, four year scholarship for a qualified student annually to attend New York University, Lew's alma mater.
This wonderful opportunity would not be possible without the support of NYU. We are especially thankful to President John Sexton and Senior Vice President Debra LaMorte for their commitment to this partnership.

Men: Collared shirt and shorts or slacks.
Women: Collared shirt and slacks or knee length shorts.
Golf Shoes
Soft Spikes only. No penetrating spikes are permitted at Deepdale
Cell Phones
Cell Phones are not permitted on the Deepdale course
