This Year's EventWelcome to the 10th annual Lew Rudin Charity Golf Classic. We are honored and proud that you will join us at this commerative event, remembering Lew and his most cherished sport.
We thank you for your generous support of The First Tee of Metropolitan New York, an organization “in swing” with Lew’s hopes for a facility fostering the growth of young players both on and off the golf course. The money raised will once again be used to create a scholarship in Lew’s name for a qualified First Tee participant to attend his alma mater, New York University. A special thank you to NYU President John Sexton and Debra LaMorte, Senior Vice President of Development, for their help in facilitating this goal. |

Christopher Johnson
Christopher Johnson is a young man with many interests. Whether playing the piano or teeing off on area golf courses where he plays for the Don Bosco Prep Varsity Golf Team, in Ramsey, New Jersey, he is focused and dedicated.
Chris has studied at the Rockland Conservatory of Music for the past eight years. Innately curious and open minded, Christopher likes Hip Hop and Rhythm and Blues. He is a self-taught guitarist, and is beginning to venture out into jazz, all of which he wants to carry with whim throughout his life. Chris is also affiliated with the Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory Achievement Program, a program that measures musical excellence on a national scale.
He became involved with The First Tee of Metropolitan New York at Mosholu Golf Course approximately six years ago. At the age of seven he began to love the sport of golf and worked his way in The First Tee Program, from Par to Ace level. He quickly embraced the core values, which now have become part of his life and recently, he was selected as a First Tee Scholar of the Class of 2012. New York University has extended a warm welcome to Chris, as he will be attending their School of Arts and Sciences in the fall as a Pre-Med Biology major.
Christopher is not just an athlete, musician, and National Honor Society member; he is a community minded teenager as well. At Don Bosco Preparatory High School, he is a student ambassador. A member of the West Nyack, New York NAACP Youth Council, he played the piano for a community service fundraiser. He has served on the Teen Executive Board of Jack and Jill of America, Inc., a national organization dedicated to the educational, emotional, and cultural development of African American children through educationally enriched programs and community service. Chris also holds a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do, from the Workout Place in Bardonia, New York.
Christopher and family would like to thank The First Tee of Metropolitan New York, its Staff, and Executive Director, Barry McLaughlin, and The Rudin Family for their support.
