The Rudin family is pleased to host this year’s Lew Rudin Golf Classic in support of the First Tee Metropolitan New York benefitting the Lew Rudin Scholarship at NYU. This tournament combines several of Lew’s passions- his love of his family and friends, love of golf, love of Deepdale and love for the First Tee and NYU.
The money raised will provide a full, four-year scholarship for a qualified student and First Tee participant to attend New York University, Lew’s alma mater.
The goal of The First Tee is to impact the lives of young people around the world by creating affordable and accessible golf facilities to primarily serve those who have not previously had exposure to the game and its positive values. The mission is broader than just teaching children how to play golf, it includes teaching these children strong life skills. The 9 core values of First Tee are: honesty, respect, confidence, responsibility, integrity, courtesy, judgment, perserverance and sportsmanship, which are carried over onto both the golf course and every day life.
The First Tee - Metropolitan New York at Mosholu Golf Course opened the Lew Rudin Youth Golf Center on June 5, 2002. This junior learning center contains an artificial training green, chipping area, practice tee and Par-3 hole. Inside there is a classroom area to provide instruction on the rules and etiquette of golf and the “life skills”. Working with local schools and community groups, 60-80 young people receive formal instruction every afternoon.

Men: Collared shirt and shorts or slacks. Women: Collared shirt and slacks or knee length shorts.
Golf Shoes
Soft Spikes only. No penetrating spikes are permitted at Deepdale
Cell Phones
Cell Phones are not permitted on the Deepdale course
